Rabat – Morocco has once again confirmed its status as the leading force in Arab football after being ranked the most valuable Arab national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to Forbes Middle East and player assessments from Transfermarkt.
With an estimated market value of $533 million, the Atlas Lions stand far ahead of the rest of the Arab nations participating in the tournament. Morocco alone accounts for almost half of the combined value of the eight Arab teams competing in the expanded World Cup, whose total value is $1.1 billion.
The gap between Morocco, the first, and Algeria, the second, is narrow, with Algeria’s squad valued at $266 million, followed by Egypt at $161 million, Tunisia at $81 million, and Saudi Arabia at $32.3 million.
At the heart of Morocco’s rise is captain Achraf Hakimi, currently the most valuable player among Arab teams.
According to Forbes, the Paris Saint-Germain star, who recently won his third Champions League title, is valued at $93.5 million.
Morocco’s dominance is no coincidence. The Atlas Lions have established themselves as one of the world’s elite national teams since their historic run to the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup, becoming the first African and Arab nation to reach the last four of football’s biggest tournament.
Since then, Morocco has continued to strengthen its position on the global stage. The national team entered the 2026 World Cup ranked eighth in the FIFA rankings. Now the Atlas Lions rank sixth after spectacular performances during the group stage campaign.
The country’s football boom extends beyond the senior national team. Morocco is set to co-host the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal and has invested heavily in youth development and infrastructure, producing a new generation of talent capable of competing with the world’s best.
The numbers highlight Morocco’s superiority among Arab teams. The Atlas Lions’ squad is worth more than the combined value of those of Egypt, Tunisia, and Saudi Arabia, and nearly double Algeria’s.
