Rabat – Mohamed Salah has spoken publicly for the first time since agreeing to join Turkish side Trabzonspor in one of the biggest transfers in Turkish football history.
The Egyptian forward has completed a free transfer from Liverpool, signing a two-year contract that will keep him at Trabzonspor until the summer of 2028.
Trabzonspor shared a video on its official social media channels showing Salah on board a flight from the Greek island of Mykonos to Turkiye. Wearing his new claret-and-blue jersey, the former Liverpool star addressed the club’s supporters with a brief message.
“Trabzon, are you ready? I can hear you… See you very soon.”
Salah is expected to arrive in Turkiyetoday to complete the final formalities of his transfer before traveling to Trabzon later in the day. In a surprise move, he will reportedly wear the No. 61 shirt, instead of the No. 10 or No. 11 jerseys he famously wore for Egypt and Liverpool.
According to media reports, the deal includes an annual salary of around €17.5 million, a signing bonus of approximately €5 million, as well as payments related to agent Ramy Abbas, shirt sales, and image rights.
The transfer was finalized after Besiktas reportedly failed to reach an agreement to sign Salah due to differences over the agent’s commission.
With the move, Salah becomes the fourth Egyptian footballer to represent Trabzonspor, following Ayman Abdelaziz, Sayed Moawad, and Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet.”
