Rabat – Wydad Athletic Club have reached an agreement with Jordan international Nizar Al-Rashdan over a move to Casablanca during the summer transfer window, according to Moroccan and Jordanian reports.
Al-Rashdan, 27, is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also operate in a more central role. He is available following the end of his spell with Qatar SC, which officially announced on August 2 that the Jordan international would leave the club.
The midfielder joined Qatar in January from Iraqi side Al-Zawraa and helped the club finish sixth in the Qatar Stars League during the 2025-2026 campaign.
A move to Wydad would continue a career that has taken Al-Rashdan across several leagues in recent years. After beginning his senior career in Jordan, he represented Al-Faisaly before spells with Iraq’s Newroz, UAE side Emirates Club, Bahrain’s Al-Khaldiya, Al-Zawraa and Qatar SC.
Al-Rashdan also brings considerable international experience.
He was one of Jordan’s standout players during their historic run to the 2023 AFC Asian Cup final. His most memorable contribution came in the round of 16 against Iraq, when he scored a curling winner deep into stoppage time to complete a dramatic 3-2 comeback and send Jordan into the quarter-finals.
The midfielder remained an important member of Jordan’s squad for their first FIFA World Cup appearance in 2026. He scored against Algeria during the group stage, giving Jordan the lead before the North African side recovered to win 2-1.
For Wydad, Al-Rashdan would provide additional defensive presence and international experience in midfield while adding another option ahead of the new season.
