Rabat– The Embassy of Indonesia in Rabat is bringing Indonesian culture, tourism and cuisine closer to the Moroccan public through “Le Marché Indonésien,” a cultural celebration held as part of events marking the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence.
The event invites members of the Indonesian community and friends of Indonesia to enjoy an afternoon celebrating Indonesian culture through food, crafts, performances and entertainment.

Visitors can discover authentic Indonesian food and drinks, traditional handicrafts and products, while attending cultural performances and taking part in games and activities. The programme also includes door prizes for participants.
Regia Mutiara Rozuah, Chair of the Committee, who handles political and economic affairs at the Indonesian Embassy in Rabat and is coordinating the event, said the initiative was designed to “bring Indonesia to your doorstep.”
“You can experience Indonesia without leaving Rabat, without leaving Morocco,” she said.
Visitors can obtain a “Le Marché Indonésien” passport and take part in a series of activities and challenges designed to introduce them to different aspects of Indonesia. Participants can learn about Indonesian tourism destinations, discover traditional musical instruments and explore elements of the country’s cultural heritage.
Food is also at the heart of the experience, with visitors given the opportunity to taste authentic Indonesian cuisine and discover some of the country’s culinary traditions.
The event also features information on Indonesian consular services, including the launch of an application intended to facilitate applications for consular services.
The celebration forms part of a wider programme organized by the Indonesian Embassy and the Indonesian community in Morocco for Independence Day.
Indonesia’s Ambassador to Morocco, Yuyu Sutisna, said the celebrations include two main events. “Pesta Rakyat,” the public celebration, is being held on August 15, while the official Independence Day ceremony is scheduled for August 17.
Sutisna said the celebrations aim not only to commemorate Indonesia’s independence but also to bring Indonesia and Morocco closer together.
He expressed hope that greater exposure to Indonesia would encourage Moroccans to visit the country for holidays, explore business opportunities and consider investment.
Through “Le Marché Indonésien,” the embassy is offering visitors in Rabat an opportunity to experience Indonesian culture, flavors and traditions while promoting stronger people-to-people connections between Indonesia and Morocco.
