Rabat – German club Hamburger SV has officially signed Moroccan international Zakaria El Ouahidi from Belgian side Genk.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, El Ouahdi is set to sign a five-year contract with Hamburger SV, as previously anticipated.
Tavolieri also reported that Genk will receive €8 million for the transfer, along with €4 million in potential bonuses and a significant percentage of any future resale value.
The move marks a new chapter in El Ouahidi’s career following three seasons with Genk. He completed the transfer after successfully passing his medical examination and finalizing all the necessary formalities.
The Moroccan established himself as a key player for Genk, thanks to his versatility at right-back and his attacking contributions, both in creating and scoring goals.
El Ouahidi has also strengthened his presence on the European scene while becoming a regular starter for the Atlas Lions.
His move to Hamburg will give him the opportunity to compete at a different level in one of Europe’s strongest leagues.
The Moroccan has previously made 43 appearances across all competitions during his time with the Belgian side in the 2025-26 season, scoring 12 goals and registering six assists.
The numbers were particularly notable in the Belgian Pro League, where he scored eight goals and provided four assists in 34 appearances, underlining his attacking influence from the right flank.
