Rabat – Moroccan international Anass Salah-Eddine has decided to remain at AS Roma for the 2026-27 season despite receiving several offers, including a late approach from English Premier League side West Ham United.
According to Dutch newspaper ED, the 24-year-old left-back attracted interest from several clubs during the summer transfer window, with West Ham and Greek side Olympiacos among the teams monitoring his situation.
However, Salah-Eddine chose to stay in the Italian capital as he looks to compete for a place in Roma’s starting lineup.
The Moroccan defender had made his intentions clear after returning to Roma from PSV Eindhoven, where he spent last season on loan. He reportedly wanted an opportunity to prove himself at the Italian club and was therefore unwilling to leave either permanently or on another loan deal.
Salah-Eddine enjoyed an impressive spell with PSV last season, establishing himself as an important player during his time in the Netherlands. PSV was interested in keeping him permanently but ultimately did not activate the purchase option included in his loan agreement.
The defender consequently returned to Roma ahead of the new season.
Despite receiving further offers during the summer, Salah-Eddine opted to remain with the Serie A club. His decision reflects his determination to earn regular playing time and demonstrate that he deserves a place in Roma’s squad.
The Moroccan international will now focus on the new season with Roma, hoping to turn his decision to stay into an opportunity to establish himself in the club’s starting lineup.
