Rabat – Azzedine Ounahi opened his Panathinaikos scoring account on Sunday.
The Morocco international found the back of the net in the club’s 3-0 victory over Panetolikos in the third round of the Greek Super League.
Ounahi started the match and doubled Panathinaikos’ advantage in the 39th minute, registering his first goals since returning to the Athens-based club.
Taborda had put the hosts ahead in the 14th minute before Ounahi extended their lead by Halftime. Calabria then added a third in stoppage time to complete a comfortable victory for Panathinaikos.
The Moroccan midfielder was substituted in the 61st minute, with compatriot Imran Louza also coming off at the same time after starting the match.
Ounahi returned to Panathinaikos this summer after completing a permanent move from Girona, having previously spent the 2024-25 season with the Greek side on loan from Marseille.
His first spell in Athens proved successful, with Panathinaikos supporters voting him the club’s Player of the Season. The midfielder subsequently joined Girona, where he scored five goals and registered two assists in 24 La Liga appearances last season.
Ounahi has now returned to an environment where he once enjoyed a strong run, signing a contract with Panathinaikos until 2030.
His latest performance offers an early indication of what the creative Moroccan midfielder can bring to the Greek side after his return, with his first goals arriving just weeks into his second spell at the club.
