Agadir – Morocco took part as the guest of honor in the fifth edition of Ecuador’s International Cooperation Fair, Territorial Edition, held September 10 and 11 in Ibarra, Ecuador, according to the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI).
The Moroccan delegation included representatives from AMCI, the Embassy of Morocco in Ecuador, and the Artificial Intelligence Research Center at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
The fair was organized by Ecuador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility in partnership with the Municipality of Ibarra and the Provincial Government of Imbabura.
AMCI presented Morocco’s approach to South-South cooperation, focusing on innovation, technology, and the exchange of expertise to address emerging development challenges in partner countries.
Morocco’s participation as guest of honor reflects both the cooperation between the North African kingdom and Ecuador as well as Rabat’s commitment to strengthening South-South partnerships based on solidarity, knowledge sharing, and mutual benefit.
AMCI also operated a dedicated stand at the fair, where it presented its missions, areas of intervention, and experience in international cooperation, particularly its work with Latin American countries.

The Moroccan delegation also joined discussions alongside representatives from several countries and cooperation organizations.
AMCI representatives and the Director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Center at UM6P participated in panels addressing South-South and triangular cooperation, new partnership mechanisms, solidarity, and territorial resilience.
The discussions are part of the broader theme of strengthening the “International Cooperation Ecosystem 2.0” through more coordinated and effective cooperation.
Morocco’s participation in Ecuador comes as AMCI continues to develop triangular cooperation partnerships with European and African institutions.
AMCI and Belgium’s Agency for International Cooperation, Enabel, signed in Brussels on September 9 a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen their partnership and develop new triangular cooperation projects in Africa.
AMCI uses such platforms to showcase Morocco’s experience in capacity building, knowledge sharing, skills development, and the implementation of development projects benefiting partner countries.
