Rabat – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) celebrated the addition of its 70th aircraft to its fleet on Monday.
The airline celebrated the arrival of its Boeing 737 MAX 8 with registration CN-RHS on posts throughout its social media.
“Take a closer look at CN-RHS. Swipe to discover our 70th aircraft,” the airline said.
Several reports indicated the airline is bringing more aircrafts as part of its fleet expansion.
One report in July said the airline will receive RAM and is set to receive a new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bringing its total fleet to 68.
Now the company confirmed its fleet has expanded to reach 70.
Royal Air Maroc is set to make new deliveries in the short and medium term, with the fleet expected to grow to 74 aircraft by the end of 2026 and 88 by 2027.
In July 2023, RAM announced a contract with the Moroccan government, with an ambition to support the country’s tourism roadmap.
Morocco aims to attract 65 million tourists by 2027.
Under the agreement, Royal Air Maroc is seeking to increase its fleet of commercial aircraft, aiming to boost the number of its aircraft from 50 to 200 over the next 15 years, as part of the 2023-2037 program.
Royal Air Maroc has been also pledging efforts to modernize its equipment. In August RAM became the first airline in Africa to sign with Starlink, the satellite internet arm of Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The agreement aims to bring Wi-Fi to its entire fleet.
The 2026 Skytrax ranking placed RAM in the 58th position, compared with 70th in 2025. This means RAM moved up 12 places in the recent ranking, which evaluates top 100 airlines.
RAM also ranked fourth in Skytrax’s list of the best airlines in Africa for 2026.
