Rabat – Bayern Munich’s forward Sadio Mane arrived in Morocco today to attend the 2022 CAF Football Awards, which will take place tonight in the capital city of Rabat.

The Senegalese football player has been shortlisted for the Men’s African Player of the Year 2022, alongside his former teammate, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, and Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.

A video circulating online shows Mane after he had landed at the Rabat-Sale airport. Moroccan fans of the football star have shared pictures that they took with Mane upon his arrival.

The Senegalese player led his home country to win its first African Cup of Nations (AFCON) title earlier this year after beating Egypt in Cameroon.

He also helped Senegal’s Teranga Lions secure a ticket to the upcoming Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Before joining Bayern at the end of the 2021-2022 season, Mane scored a total of 23 goals and delivered five assists with Liverpool, who won the Football Cup (FA).

Mane is the favorite to win the Play of the Year 2022 award, particularly following his outstanding performance last season with the English club.
