Rabat – King Mohammed VI has sent a message of congratulations to Spain’s King Felipe VI on the occasion of his birthday.

In his message, King Mohammed VI expressed his warm congratulations and sincere wishes for health, happiness and long life to King Felipe VI, as well as to all members of the Spanish royal family.

The message also conveyed King Mohammed VI’s wishes for more progress and prosperity to the Spanish people as well.

In addition, King Mohammed VI reiterated to King Felipe VI the strong bonds of friendship uniting the two countries and the two royal families.

Last week, King Felipe VI and his wife Queen Letizia visited Morocco’s pavilion at the International Tourism Fair in Madrid.

Morocco’s pavilion highlights the country’s traditional clothes, while introducing its potential to further boost its tourism sector.

Following months of unprecedented bilateral tensions, recent weeks have been marked by various conciliatory signs from Spanish officials expressing their country’s readiness to restore normalcy in cooperation with Morocco.

On January 17, King Felipe VI addressed a message of reconciliation to Morocco, emphasizing the importance of the decades-long bilateral relations between the two countries.

He called on the North African country to “walk together” with Spain on the path to maintaining their relations on “solid and strong pillars.”

For her part, spokesperson of the Spanish government Isabel Rodriguez has said that Morocco is a “strategic” partner for Spain, while the country’s Head of Government Pedro Sanchez reiterated that Spain and Morocco maintain strategic cooperation in all areas.
