Rabat – Tunisia’s Eagles of Carthage will face Australia’s Socceroos during matchday 7 of the Qatar World Cup’s group stage.
The game will begin on Saturday, November 26 at 11:00 Moroccan time at Al Janoub Stadium. The match will be broadcasted on BeIN Sports and streaming platforms including BeIN Connect, Fubo TV, Vidgo, Sling TV, and Peacock.
The game marks the second match of both teams in the tournament. Australia, the lowest ranking in Group D, wishes to score some points in the game against Tunisia after a heartbreaking 1-4 defeat against France on Tuesday.
“I think [Tunisia] are a great side. They wouldn’t be at the World Cup if they weren’t,” Australian forward Marco Tilio said earlier this week. “But I think we focus on ourselves, and that’s the most important thing is we focus on ourselves and the performance we can produce.”
Tilio joined the squad as a replacement to injured Martin Boyle who had to undergo a knee surgery before the tournament. This week, the Australian team also lost defender Nathaniel Atkison to an ankle injury.
Australia’s recent defeat and squad changes are likely to reflect on the team’s performance against the Eagles of Carthage who currently rank 30th globally, eight spots ahead of the Socceroos.
While expecting a tough game against the Tunisians, Tilio said his team would not be shying away from the game despite challenges.
“We’ll just go out and play, we have enough quality in this side to make something happen in this game and we’ve got full belief that we’ll get the three points,” he commented.

Tunisia currently holds the second position in Group D after a goalless draw against Denmark, and have secured one point in the tournament.
This is Tunisia’s sixth participation in the World Cup. The team is looking to make history by reaching the round 16 for the first time ever.
“We want to get past this round, this is our main objective, and we’re quite optimistic about achieving this goal,” Tunisia’s head coach Jalel Kadri said.
The Eagles of Carthage failed to win a group stage game during the 1998, 2002, and 2006 cups.
Despite the country’s discouraging record in previous World Cups, Opta Analyst suggests that the odds are now in favor of Tunisians who have a 47.3% chance. Australia holds a 25.6% chance to secure the much-needed three points.
