According to the source, a booby-trapped car exploded in Mustafa al-Nahhas Street in eastern Cairo while the minister’s motorcade was passing by.
No casualties were reported in the bombing, which reportedly caused damage to nearby shops.
The Interior Ministry has not yet issued an official statement on the incident.
