Organized by the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, “Between The Lines: The Writing Experience” is a golden opportunity for young Moroccan writers to identify with young American ones in an attempt to deeply understand American culture, broaden their knowledge about the writing skill and, above all ,share their experiences.
The U.S. Program which offers a two-week residency from July 8 to July 22, 2013 at the University of Iowa invites young Moroccan writers to take part in the creative writing of the U.S. Program activities. Among the scheduled activities are writing workshops in English and Arabic.
For educational purposes, the students’ writings will appear in a booklet in two languages: English and Arabic.
Talented, young fiction and/or poetry writers who are willing to take part in the program must meet the following criteria:
– Moroccan residency.
– Applicants must be 16, 17, 18, or 19 as of June 22, 2013.
– Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
– Showing an outgoing, open personality.
Priority will be given to candidates with limited or no abroad travel experience.
