Rabat – The nine persons arrested lately in several cities of Morocco planned to carry out “lone wolf” suicide attacks in the country, the Central Bureau for Judiciary Investigations (BCIJ), under the General Directorate for Territory Surveillance (DGST), said Wednesday.
These terrorist elements, active on social networks and having ties with the Islamic State (ISIS), expressed their willingness to adhere to the destructive projects promoted by ISIS, BCIJ pointed out in a statement.
Some elements have received direct instructions from ISIS field leaders to kill civilian and military figures and target sensitive sites using explosive belts, the same source added.
Nine people were arrested on July 2 in the cities of Nador, Laayoune, Tetouan, Meknes, Tiznit, Beni Mellal, Saidia, Dakhla and Tangie
