Marrakech – With numerous world leaders in attendance, including Morocco’s Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place today Friday on the Seine river.
The event will officially kick off the Games with a spectacular show. To catch the opening ceremony live, tune in to your TV before 6:30 PM (Moroccan time).
Several channels will broadcast the event, including Moroccan sports channel Arryadia (TNT version), beIN Sports, France Televisions, France 2, and Eurosport.
All eyes around the globe will be on Paris. However, many details about the ceremony remain undisclosed, with only a few hints revealed by the organizers.
The parade will start from the Pont d’Austerlitz and conclude in front of the Trocadéro site with the iconic lighting of the Olympic cauldron, covering a route of over 6 km along the Seine.
As for the order of appearance at the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony, Greece will lead the parade, honoring tradition as the birthplace of the Games.
Following Greece, the IOC rules dictate that the Refugee Olympic Team will march next.
Afterward, national delegations will present themselves in alphabetical order.
Between 6,000 and 7,000 athletes will participate in this grand event, with no less than 94 boats parading along the Seine, carrying athletes, artists, and officials.
Representing Morocco, golfer Ines Laklalech and equestrian Yessin Rahmouni have been chosen as flag bearers.
As the world tunes in, the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony promises to be an unforgettable spectacle.
