RABAT – Fatema Marouane, who was appointed on Thursday Minister of Handiccrafts, social economy and solidarity was born in 1952 in Benslimane.
She is a member in the National Council of the National assembly of Independents, and the Council of the Region of Casablanca city.
Laureate of the Faculty of Medicine of Lyon (France), Ms. Marouane is an ex-professor/researcher at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Casablanca, Specialist Doctor in Endocrinology-Diabetology-Nutrition Diseases, former Chief of Endocrinology Service diabetes and Nutrition in University Hospital (CHU) Ibn Rushd in Casablanca, and former president of the Moroccan Endocrinology diabetes and Nutrition Society (SMEDIAN).
She is also an elected member of the Scientific Committee at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Casablanca and a member of the national committee for the prevention and fight against diabetes (Ministry of Health).
Trilingual (Arabic, French, English), Ms. Marouane is a board member of ‘Casablanca Chicago Sister Cities Association’, and an active participant in its programs, in addition to her active work in several organizations of civil society, working in the field of health and the strengthening of social action.
Since she left the public sector in 2005, Ms. Marouane works in private sector as a physician-specialist in Endocrinology-Diabetology-Nutrition Diseases.
