Rabat – A YouTube video showing Morocco’s “Deqqa Merrakchiya” performing at the wedding celebration of UAE-born Yemeni singer Balqees Ahmed Fathi Saudi to businessman Sultan Abdullatif, has gone viral.
The two-minute video shows the newly wedded couple and their guests dancing to the rhythms of “Deqqa Merrakchiya,” a popular Moroccan folk musician from Marrakech.
The video also shows Moroccan “Neggafates,” a Moroccan term referring to the dressmakers and the caretakers of the bride during her wedding celebration.
The wedding took place Thursday at the Armani Hotel in Dubai. UAE’s media reported that the couple would be honeymooning in New York city.
In attendance at the wedding were numerous celebrated Arab singers including Rashid Al-Majid and Hussain Al-Jasmi.
