Rabat – The Council of Government has approved the draft of the new government’s five-year program, according to a communique issued by the cabinet of the Head of Government, Saad Eddine Othmani, on Wednesday.
During a meeting chaired by Othmani on Wednesday morning, the program reviewed the latest development of Morocco’s territorial integrity, namely Western Sahara issue.
The members of the government reviewed the program, which will be presented in front of the two houses of Parliament Wednesday afternoon.
Article N°88 of the Moroccan constitution stipulates that after the appointment of the government by the King, the Head of the Government must present the program the government will apply throughout the next five years of its mandate.
The program should outline the activities the government plans to carry out in various sectors, including economy, culture and foreign policy.
The constitution also says that the government can only be vested after the entrustment of the House of Representatives, whose members express their approval through an absolute majority vote.
