For an hour, Rabat turned into Cairo and anticipation reached its peak for what would become one of the most memorable performances of this year’s Mawazine edition.
A musical journey
Achour opened his enchanting concert with “‘Isht M’aak Hikayat” (I Lived Stories with You), immediately establishing an intimate connection with the packed theater. The nostalgic melody resonated deeply with audience members, many of whom sang along to every word.
The energy shifted with his second performance, “El Rak Al Neya” (Depending on Intention), as the crowd’s enthusiasm reached new heights. The third song, “Hagi Al Nafsy” (I’ll Come to Myself), featured Achour’s vocal range and emotional depth. The opening segment concluded with the upbeat “Yaah,” bringing the crowd back to their feet.
Under the masterful direction of Maestro Said Kamal, Achour presented an extensive collection of his most celebrated hits throughout the evening. The performance featured fan-favorites including “Tislam,” “Bye Bye,” and “Makrahtosh” (I Didn’t Hate Him).

The concert showed Achour’s versatility as he navigated between romantic ballads like “Khalini Fi Hudnak” (Keep Me in Your Arms) and “Akher Muqabala” (Last Meeting), and more contemplative pieces such as “Qasr Ba’id” (Distant Palace) and “Ghaybat Al Habayib” (Absence of Loved Ones).
Cultural bridge
More than just a musical treat, the performance exemplified the strong cultural ties between Egypt and Morocco, united by shared Arabic heritage and musical traditions. The Mohamed V National Theater provided the perfect backdrop for this cultural exchange – its acoustics creating an intimate atmosphere despite the venue’s grandeur.
As the final notes echoed through the theater and the standing ovation continued, Achour had delivered an unforgettable cultural experience that celebrated the timeless appeal of authentic Arabic music and reinforced Morocco’s position as a vital hub for Arabic culture.
