Rabat – In Morocco for Casa Festival 2017, rapper French Montana has documented his trip to his native douar outside of Casablanca on social media.
In the video, villagers surround the car, cheering and waving the Moroccan flag. The 32-year old sports a t-shirt with the Moroccan flag and can later be seen listening to traditional Moroccan music.
During the drive to the town, the Moroccan-American rapper can be heard saying, “I can’t believe I used to live here.”
French Montana is alleged to have received between USD 30,000 and 50,000 for his performance at Casa Festival on July 8.
Born Karim Kharbouch, the rapper known for his single ‘Unforgettable’ emigrated with his family to New York City at the age of 13.
