Rabat – Mohammed V University of Rabat (UM5) topped the national rankings once again, according to the latest international ranking U-Multirank 2021.
The university ranks first for the fourth consecutive year in terms of research in the international ranking U-Multirank 2021.
UM5 has distinguished itself on a national and international scale, particularly with regard to its indexed publications, publication rate per professor, number of high-level publications, work with companies and publications with multinational corporations.
The university has also distinguished itself by the sheer number of open access articles and publications in regional journals.
UM5 also ranks 1st in Africa in terms of number of publications per professor, 2nd in continental rankings for regional collaboration, outpacing other Maghreb universities.
U-Multirank is a global ranking based on a multidimensional analysis of higher education institutions around the world.
The ranking provides data about 1948 universities worldwide: 34 in Africa, 3 in Morocco, 417 in Asia, 1101 in Europe, 52 in Latin America, 299 in North America, and 45 in Oceania.
Its unique feature is that it does not provide a ranked list of the best universities in a country or in the world. In contrast to existing university rankings globally, the U-Multirank takes a different approach.
The ranking’s multidimensional approach evaluates universities’ performances across a range of activities, from teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, to international orientation and regional engagement.
Moroccan universities are often featured in many international and regional rankings, as the institutions continue to improve the quality of their facilities and their academic outputs.
