Rabat – A Hitler-admiring young Frenchman was apprehended planning an attack on a high school and a mosque, and was arrested by the French Directorate General of Interior Security (DGSI) this Sunday, October 3.

The 19 year old defines himself as a “white and nationalist fighter.”

In notebooks found at his home, he wrote that he wanted to do “worse than Columbine,” referring to a shooting that left 15 people dead in an American high school in 1999.

The man was brought before an anti-terrorism judge and charged this Friday with “criminal terrorist association.” Placed in pre-trial detention, he was arrested on Tuesday September 28 in Le Havre on suspicion of preparing an attack on a mosque and a high school.

According to French media, the young man planned to act on April 20, 2022.

During a home search of the suspect’s residence, three firearms and about twenty knives were discovered.

Notebooks entitled “Mein Kampf” in which he pledged allegiance to the Fürher and said he had scouted around his former high school and a mosque were also found by french authorities.

In his writings, the suspect also refers to Anders Breivik, the Norwegian who committed the attacks in Oslo and Utoya that killed 77 people and injured 151 on July 22, 2011. He also makes supremacist, sexist, and racist comments.

The 19-year-old also claims to have been sexually assaulted at a young age and then harassed by his classmates, suggesting that this was his main motivation to commit an attack in his former high school.

He also drew up a list of about thirty people whom he hopes to take revenge on, according to French newspaper “Le Parisien.”

The suspect was spotted by investigators because of his contact with an 18-year-old woman from Beziers, southern France, on a Telegram loop.

The young woman, suspected of having planned an attack against a church in the Herault, was indicted and imprisoned in early April.
