Rabat – The German automobile manufacturer Porsche is investing in 33 operational chargers in Morocco by the end of this year through the “Porsche Destination Charging” program.
Customers who own Porsche Taycan or a plug-in hybrid model can charge their vehicle at the designated locations without fees.
In all, Porsche is investing in the development of a charging network that will cover a total of 3,152 Alternating Current (AC) charging stations in around 20 countries.
The manufacturer aims to establish a dozen charging stations in different locations such as luxury hotels, sports clubs, and restaurants during 2022.
“With the Porsche Destination Charging program, we are expanding our charging network in places that are particularly popular among our customers,” said Martin Urschel, Vice President of Intelligent Mobility Sales and Operations at Porsche.
Urschel expressed the company’s desire to be a driving force behind the expansion of electric mobility.
Regarding the company’s offer to dispatch 33 charging stations across Morocco, Urschel stressed, “We are satisfied with the acceptance of the program by our partners, as the brand already has more than 13 branches in the entire area in 8 cities with around 30 charging stations.”
The Moroccan ‘Porsche Destination Charging’ partners include the hotels: Mamounia, Sofitel Marrakech, Sofitel Tamuda Bay, Syrayan Boutique Hotel, Paradis Plage, and Hyatt Taghazout.
Future chargers are expected to be installed in Sofitel Jardin des roses, Sofitel Tour blanche, Fairmont hotel Royal Palm, Fairmont Residences Royal Palm, Complexe la Corniche, and Restaurant du Port Mohammedia.
Porsche makes charging stations available to its partners free of charge and urges interested companies to participate in the Porsche Destination Charging program to apply online.
