Rabat – Morocco’s embassy in the United Kingdom organized a conference titled “Morocco’s Southern Provinces: A Growing Hub for International Investments,” to highlight the region’s various investment opportunities.
The event seeks to highlight the potential investment opportunities that Morocco’s southern regions possess, the Moroccan embassy in the UK indicated in a statement.
On November 16, 1997, over 350,000 Moroccans participated in the Green March, one of the largest and most peaceful protests, under the leadership of the late King Hassan II.
The historic event aimed to reclaim Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over the Sahara region, which was colonized by Spain at the time.

The embassy organized the conference in partnership with the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), and Dakhla’s Regional Center for Investments.
Speaking at the conference, Morocco’s Ambassador to the UK Hakim Hajoui emphasized the North African country’s “continuous commitment to further develop” its southern regions.

These include wind and solar energy, tourism, aquaculture and agriculture, the statement added.
