Rabat – Moroccan football player Walid Cheddira displayed immense joy and excitement after featuring on the list of the 26 Atlas Lions participating in the upcoming 2022 Qatar World Cup.

A widely circulated video shows the Moroccan international player on Thursday fixated in front of the TV alongside his family, as Morocco’s head coach Walid Regragui announced the Moroccan squad list for the World Cup.

As soon as Regragui mentioned that Cheddira would be among the national team’s forward line, the 24-year-old and his family members jumped for joy in a wild, cheerful celebration.

The Moroccan player took to Instagram to celebrate the milestone, saying: “I am proud, excited, overjoyed, and honored to represent my nation in the most prestigious competition of all.”

His statement continued, “I am very confident in the path we are going to take,” Cheddira said, stressing that the Moroccan national team will do its best in the upcoming global tournament. “Dreams come true,” he added.

The Moroccan head coach announced the news yesterday at a press conference, during which he called on Moroccan fans to support and encourage the national team during the World Cup.

In addition, Regragui expressed his determination to successfully lead the Atlas Lions team, expressing his hopes that they would put on a great performance and make Moroccans proud.

As the World Cup squads are being announced, videos of football players reacting to hearing their names listed have flooded the internet.

The much-anticipated tournament is on the horizon, with only nine days to go until kick-off in Doha. Football fans from across the globe are eager to watch the exciting matches between the world’s top-tier teams.
