Rabat – As the year 2022 is coming to an end, several A-list celebrities and public figures have chosen Morocco’s red city Marrakech as their destination to celebrate the new year.

This comes as no surprise, as Marrakech is one the world’s most popular travel destinations, thanks to its historical palaces, rich culture, captivating architecture, and luxurious hotels.

Among the celebrities is French TV and radio presenter Ophelie Meunier, who posted pictures of her and her family enjoying the magical vibes of Marrakech.

In addition, American actor Ben Felman has arrived in the city of Marrakech alongside his wife Michelle Mulitz ahead of new year’s eve. The couple documented on Instagram their unique journey in the Ourika Valley, located 30 kilometers from Marrakech.

In the pictures, Felman and his wife are seen enjoying nature on the outskirts of Marrakech, as well as discovering local traditions and food.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, has reportedly arrived in the Moroccan red city and is set to spend new year’s eve there. Bin Hamad’s visit comes days after his father former Emir Sheikh Hamad arrived in Marrakech.

In addition, Congolese singer Gandhi Bilel Djuna, known by his stage name Maitre Gims, rocked the stage in the fourth edition of the concert Stars in the Place, which took place in Marrakech’s Jamaa Lafna square on Thursday night. Gims is expected to celebrate the new year in Marrakech.

Aside from its captivating souks, medina, and luxury resorts, Marrakech is a famous winter getaway for celebrities looking to enjoy the city’s sunny, warm weather. Irish singer Una Healy is currently enjoying Marrakech’s warm weather, as she posted on Instagram pictures of her having the time of her life in the Moroccan city.

In addition, many celebrities have been flocking to Marrakech to celebrate significant events, such as weddings, engagements, and birthdays.

Professional football player Enzo Zidane, son of French football legend Zinedine Zidane, celebrated his wedding in Marrakech earlier this month and is expected to spend the new year in the mythical city alongside his wife Karen Goncalves.
