Rabat – With the end of the holy month of Ramadan approaching, astronomers around the world are issuing forecasts about the dates of Eid Al-Fitr. In Brazil, Eid Al Fitr 2023 is expected on Friday, April 21, according to astronomical calculations.
According to the outlet Nabaa exclusive, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, April 21, 2023, with Ramadan lasting 29 days this year.
The same source highlighted Eid prayer will be held in Brazil at 6:54 a.m. Doha time in the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Brasilia, Fortaleza, and Curitiba.
Additionally, Brazil’s mosques started making arrangements to receive Muslim worshipers.
There are reportedly over 200,000 Muslims residing in Brazil, meaning a significant number will be celebrating Eid in the country.
Eid Al Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan when Muslims fast for 29 or 30 days depending on the crescent moon sighting.
With only 29 days of fasting, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Qatar are expected to celebrate Eid al-Fitr on Friday, April 21.
Meanwhile, Ramadan is expected to last 30 days in Morocco with Eid Al Fitr taking place on Saturday, April 22.
Eid Al Fitr is a special celebration that marks the completion of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal, the tenth month in the Islamic calendar.
Eid celebrations include large breakfasts with traditional culture-specific food in the morning to mark the end of the Ramadan fast, as well as exchanging family visits and participating in numerous social and religious rituals and traditions.
