Rabat – Saint Vincent and the Grenadines reaffirmed its support on Friday for Morocco’s territorial integrity.

Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves conveyed his country’s support for Morocco’s territorial integrity during his visit to the North African country, where he met with Moroccan officials.

In a joint statement following his meeting with Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita, Gonsalves stressed that the Autonomy Plan offers a “unique solution” to end the dispute over Western Sahara.

Gonsalves also commended Morocco’s efforts in the UN-led political process and its full cooperation with UN Personal Envoy for the Sahara, Staffan de Mistura.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines PM also expressed his country’s support of the UN-led political process and its efforts in the search for a realistic, pragmatic, and lasting political solution to the regional conflict of the Sahara dispute.

In the joint statement, Bourita also informed the PM of the latest developments, reiterating Morocco’s commitment to the ongoing political process and wish to reach a definitive settlement to the artificial dispute.

Reiterating Morocco’s efforts in contributing to regional peace, Gonsalves stressed the importance of King Mohammed VI’s vision in promoting coexistence and mutual respect between all human beings, regardless of their religious beliefs.

Morocco’s position in the Western Sahara conflict has been earning support from many countries in the international community, with a lengthy list of countries from different continents now expressing support for Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara.
