Rabat – Israel’s relentless attacks on Gaza have caused significant devastation, destroying around 50% of residential units in the besieged strip, according to the daily report from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Among these units, more than 35,000 are now completely destroyed and uninhabitable. Meanwhile, 165,000 residential units have sustained partial damage.
In addition, the occupation forces’ attacks have rendered 16 hospitals and 51 clinics inoperational in Gaza due to bombings and a severe shortage of fuel.
This includes the Turkish Friendship Hospital, the sole cancer treatment facility in Gaza, endangering the lives of the strip’s roughly 2,000 cancer patients.
Adding to the already dire situation, Israeli attacks have killed 135 medical personnel and injured 120 others. The already stretched-thin medical staff can now cover only a third of the Gaza Strip’s hospitals’ needs, according to the report.
The Israeli military has also damaged 221 educational facilities in Gaza, 38 of which were completely destroyed.
As of today, Israel’s genocide against Palestinians has claimed the lives of 9,299 individuals in Gaza and the West Bank.
The vast majority of the casualties were recorded in Gaza, reaching 9,155 fatalities, while the rest were recorded in the West Bank.
Meanwhile, Israeli aggression has injured more than 23,000 Palestinians in Gaza and 2,200 in the West Bank.
The violence has forced 1.5 million people in Gaza, over half of the region’s population, to flee their homes.
Over 690,000 of the displaced individuals have sought shelter in the United Nations Relief and Works Agency’s (UNRWA) 149 facilities.
Meanwhile, more than 220,000 individuals have taken shelter in hospitals, mosques, churches, and public schools. The remaining displaced individuals are staying with relatives or host families.
