Rabat – The first-ever Rabat Networking Days, organized by Morocco World News (MWN) in collaboration with Al Akhawayn University (AUI), kicked off on Friday.

The two-day event is designed to help students gain insights into the communications and international relations sectors and build relationships with potential employers.

The event is witnessing participation from 34 AUI students, who will have a rare opportunity to delve into the inner workings of several prestigious organizations and foster connections that could redefine their professional journeys.

Rich and diverse program

The first edition of Rabat Networking Days takes place over two days, December 1st and 2nd. The program includes visits to participating organizations during the day, followed by a reception and networking event on the evening of December 1st.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit several institutions in Rabat, including the Embassy of the Philippines, the Popular Movement party, the Parliament, and the news agency Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).

These visits will provide the students with direct access to the internal workings of these organizations and allow them to meet with experienced professionals.

“We found in this activity a very strong link and bond with our thrust to build bridges between our two countries,” stated Leslie J Baja, the Philippines’ Ambassador to Morocco. “I personally believe that the youth are a very strong factor and component in trying to strengthen relations between countries because these are the people’s future of our tomorrow.”

Deborah Bartlett, AUI’s Chief of Employability, also welcomed the initiative, saying that it is an opportunity for students to experience “situations and environments like this, where embassies, diplomats mingle with students.”

In addition to the visits, participants at the event will also have the chance to meet and network with each other. A reception and networking event will be held on Friday evening, offering participants a platform for dialogue and interaction.

The second day is set to include tours to the International Republican Institute and the Maroc Telecom Museum, providing participants with diverse insights into various sectors.

Looking ahead

This inaugural event is not an isolated affair; it sets the stage for a series of new experiences, with a sequel scheduled for January 12-13, 2024.

The event represents a vital opportunity for Morocco’s top university students to gain invaluable insights and build relationships with potential employers, underlining the commitment of MWN and AUI to nurturing young talent.
