Rabat – As the world is celebrating the New Year, Gaza finds itself isolated amid Israeli aggression and relentless shelling targeting tens of thousands of civilians.
Aljazeera’s correspondents reported on fierce ground fighting in the center of Khan Younis, with Israeli occupation forces’ continued bloody war on Palestinians.
At least 21,822 people have been murdered by Israeli occupation forces, while over 56,451 people have been wounded in Israel’s war on Palestinians in Gaza as of today.
The news outlet’s correspondents stressed that Israeli bombardments in central Gaza have had Palestinian civilians running for their lives amid New Year’s celebrations around the world.
The Palestinian news agency said that medics confirmed the killing of several civilians, while others were injured due to Israeli warplanes attacks in the eastern Gaza district of Zeitoun.
“The attacks also include drone bombardments and group attacks, including in refugee camps.
Sources reported that a missile dropped by the occupation jets on a house belonging to the Ghabn family in the west of the said camp did not explode,” Wafa news agency said.
Gaza and the occupied West Bank have been the target of the Israeli murderous campaign since October 7. The death toll in the two regions now exceeds 22,140 victims, and this number is growing every day due to a non-stop bloody war on Palestinians.
The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East decried the situation of Palestinians, which has been marked by extreme violence, displacement, poverty, and other dire conditions such as overcrowded camps.
The agency renewed its commitment to continue helping Palestinians, wishing that the new year will bring much “awaited peace and stability to the region and beyond.”
However, such wishes remain shrouded in uncertainty as Israeli occupation forces continue to vow more months of violence and war on Palestinians.
On December 31, reports quoted PM Benjamin Netanyahu as saying that the war on Palestinians is “far from over,” and vowing that the situation will continue for “many more months.”
