Rabat- Morocco’s Atlas Lions demonstrated a display of determination in their second friendly match, holding Mauritania to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday evening at Adrar Stadium in Agadir.

In the opening half of the match, the Moroccan national team asserted their dominance on the field, exerting considerable pressure in their quest to secure an early advantage by finding the back of the net.

Ilyes Ben Sghir showcased his skill and determination with a notable attempt, adding to the intensity of the team’s offensive display.

As the game progressed, the intensity on the field grew, with both teams fiercely contesting possession and battling for control.

The Mauritanian side displayed resilience and determination, refusing to relent, searching for an opportunity to level the score and salvage a result from the match.

In the second half of the match, the dynamics remained largely unchanged as Morocco continued to apply pressure on their opponents, aiming to find the back of the net.

Head coach Walid Regragui made several changes, bringing on Ilias Akhoumach and Youssef En-nseyri at minute 76 to inject new energy into the game. However, these substitutions did not yield notable changes in the scoreboard.

In the original game time, the match ended in a draw, leading to an extra five minutes of play.

In a thrilling twist, Hakimi scored what seemed to be a decisive goal in the dying moments of added time. However, the joy was short-lived as the referee controversially ruled it offside, leaving the match level at the end of extra time.
