Morocco’s hosting of the AFCON 2025 marks the second time the country has staged the event, with the first being in 1988.

The North African nation’s recent experience in hosting major football events, such as the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN), the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, and the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup, has solidified its reputation as a premier host for international competitions.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has praised Morocco’s football infrastructure and its potential to deliver a successful tournament. With cities including Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, and Tangier, set to welcome fans from across the world, CAF believes that Morocco’s hosting of AFCON 2025 will further establish the country as a footballing powerhouse both on and off the pitch.
