Tarik Sketioui, the coach of Morocco’s Olympic national football team has acknowledged that today’s game and the US squad will not be easy, particularly as it is part of the knockout stage of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Sketioui stressed in a pre-match statement that his lineup has a strong desire to win the match, noting that there is a need to “be in peak physical and mental condition.”

He noted that his team is all ready to minimize US threats as well as reduce their strengths through exploiting their weaknesses more effectively.

“The players have a strong desire and dedication to win and  advance to the semif-inals.”

“Our goal is the semifinals and to make history to bring joy to the Moroccan people and his majesty King Mohammed VI,” Sketioui added.

Morocco will face off the US today at 2 p.m. Moroccan time.

Morocco’s sports channel Arriyadia will broadcast the match.

Prediction websites view Morocco as favorites to win the game, but acknowledged that the game is likely to be challenging for the Atlas Lions.

“The USA will cause them problems with Yow and Paredes in particular, but expect the Atlas Lions to advance,” NBC Sports wrote.

NBC expects Morocco to win the match 2-1.
