Rabat – The General Directorate of Meteorology has reported rainfall will continue throughout several provinces across Morocco.

Today, the weather office said that locally intense thunderstorms are expected from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Thunderstorms ranging from 20 to 35 millimeters in rainfall are anticipated to affect the provinces of Tinghir, Zagora, Al Haouz, Azilal, Errachidia, Midelt, and Tata.

Ouarzazate will also be concerned.

Another alert on Saturday said thunderstorms will continue until Sunday at 11 p.m., producing 60 to 100 millimeters of rainfall in several provinces, including Figuig, Errachidia, Zagora, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, and Tata.

Rainy weather will also reach Taroudant, Midelt, Azilal, Al Haouz, and Jerada until Sunday 11 p.m., as well as Larache and Tetouan.

Ifrane, Boulemane, and Sefrou will also be affected on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Morocco’s weather witnessed a series of heavy thunderstorms, causing flash floods affecting several provinces.

The flash floods caused the collapse of several houses and disrupted traffic. Several news outlets reported that the situation also caused humanitarian tragedies, with many people reported missing.

In Tata, around 12 people have been reported missing and several others killed due to the floods.
