Marrakech – The International University of Rabat (UIR) has proudly announced that six of its researchers have been ranked among the top 2% of the world’s leading scientists in 2024.

This prestigious recognition, awarded through Stanford University’s annual global ranking, shines a spotlight on UIR’s contribution to cutting-edge research and innovation.

This year’s edition of the ranking celebrates the exceptional achievements of UIR’s experts, recognizing both their lifelong contributions as authors and their outstanding scientific output in 2023.

According to a statement from UIR, this prestigious honor was awarded to Mounir Ghogho, Asmae Berrada, Mohamed Balli, Said Ahzi, Amine Belhadi, and Foued Saâdaoui, each making a significant mark in their respective fields.

Based on scientific output indexed by SCOPUS; the global leader in scientific publication indexing, Stanford University’s ranking assesses researchers’ contributions across various fields using rigorous criteria.

These include the quality of publications, citation counts, and the overall impact of their work.

According to the UIR statement published on their website, this comprehensive evaluation process underscores the significance of being ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide.

“We are immensely proud of this international recognition, which reflects the quality and impact of the research conducted at UIR and honors Moroccan universities,” said the President of UIR in a statement.

“It demonstrates our ability to rise to the top of global research and make significant contributions to scientific and technological advancements.”

This global recognition highlights the wide range of expertise among UIR’s researchers, spanning fields from engineering and social sciences to medicine and information technologies.

These experts not only contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge but also enhance UIR’s international reputation as a leading research institution, as highlighted in the statement.

This distinction reaffirms UIR’s commitment to promoting high-impact research and encouraging its scholars to push the boundaries of science.

By fostering an environment of innovation and exploration, the university ensures that its researchers remain at the forefront of global scientific progress.

As a key player in international knowledge production, UIR continues to invest in ambitious research programs and the development of scholars equipped to tackle the scientific challenges of the future.
