Rabat – Morocco’s Tourism Office (ONMT) is intensifying efforts to boost local tourism, seeking to attract both domestic and international visitors to the country’s cultural heritage.

In a statement today, ONMT announced the launch of a new communication campaign called “Ntla9awfbladna” – translated to “Let’s meet in our country” –  to encourage national tourists to explore Morocco’s tourism destinations.

The new phase of the campaign started today, under the theme of mobility.

“The launch of this campaign coincides with the school holidays to encourage travelling during this period, while highlighting the importance of using common transport means when travelling,” the statement reads.

The  new phase of the campaign aims to highlight the ease of access to various tourist destinations, as well as to motivate and encourage simple traveling.

As part of the campaign, ONMT also released a promotional video, targeting audiences from all socio-professional categories and regions of Morocco.

“Additional communication waves will follow to coincide with various holiday periods and extended weekends throughout the year, aiming to enhance the visibility and appeal of Moroccan destinations, encourage off-peak travel, and help Moroccans better plan their trips in advance across the country,” the statement added.

A third campaign is planned in 2025 to promote both spring and summer vacations, focusing on seaside and nature.

The campaign is part of the efforts by ONMT aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector and attracting a diverse range of tourists.

Tourism revenues in Morocco reached an unprecedented high of $1.74 billion in foreign currency as of August.

The number indicates a  significant increase of nearly 20% compared to August last year.

“The positive trend is confirmed throughout the year, with cumulative revenue up 7% to MAD 76.4 billion during the first eight months of 2024,” the Ministry of Tourism said.
