Moroccan striker Ayoub El Kaabi has been named the Best Foreign Player in the Greek Super League for the 2024–25 season. The award was presented at the Professional Players Association ceremony in Athens on Monday.
El Kaabi was also named in the league’s Team of the Season alongside Konstantinos Tzolakis, Panagiotis Retsos, Christos Mouzakitis and Gelson Martins.
The Olympiacos forward enjoyed a prolific campaign, scoring 27 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions. He finished as the league’s top scorer with 15 goals and helped Olympiacos secure the domestic double, winning both the Super League and the Greek Cup, scoring in the Cup final.
This follows a remarkable debut season in Greece in 2023–24, when El Kaabi netted 33 goals in all competitions and led Olympiacos to their first ever European trophy, the UEFA Europa Conference League. He was the competition’s top scorer with 11 goals, including a hat-trick in the semi-final against Aston Villa and the winning goal in the final against Fiorentina.
He continued his European exploits in 2024–25, finishing joint top scorer in the UEFA Europa League with seven goals as Olympiacos reached the Round of 16.
Since joining the club in 2023, El Kaabi has scored 62 goals in 100 appearances and collected three major trophies, cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s most dangerous forwards outside the elite leagues.
