Rabat – Moroccan authorities seized, Friday in the central city of Kasba Tadla, a 1.5 ton of hashish in a Morocco-registered vehicle.

According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of the vehicle, with a criminal record for drug trafficking, was arrested at the entrance to the city of Kasba Tadla, according to the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN).

The search and surveillance operation resulted in the seizure of 60 bags containing a 1.5 ton of drugs, DGSN pointed out in a statement.

The defendant is remanded in custody pending the completion of the investigation.
