Rabat – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced today the resumption of its direct flight connecting Casablanca to Beijing.
RAM will relaunch this direct route next year on January 20. The airline introduced the flight in January 2020 but suspended it a few weeks later due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Royal Air Maroc will operate its air route to this destination with departures from Casablanca three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Flights from Casablanca will depart at 3:15 p.m. to land the next day at Beijing International Airport at 10:50 a.m local time.
Meanwhile, departures from Beijing will take place on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 12:50 p.m. local time arriving in Casablanca at 8:15 p.m. local time.
Royal Air Maroc CEO Hamid Addou expressed satisfaction with the opening of the flight line, noting that the airline is very pleased to resume the first direct route linking Morocco and China.
“The Casablanca-Beijing route is primarily dedicated to the development of Moroccan tourism, as 80% of the traffic on this route is expected to consist of foreign tourists,” he said.
Describing the flight as a “long-awaited route,” Addou stressed that it will further strengthen economic and commercial ties between the two countries.
The airline will use its Boeing 787-Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 302 seats, including 26 in business class.
RAM concluded its statement by noting that tickets are already available for purchase on its website as well as its call centers and commercial agencies.
