Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens Lower Today

Shares of Involys and IB Maroc.com jumped 7.1% today, even as the Casablanca Stock Exchange opened slightly lower, with the MASI down 0.04% to 19,539.07 points.

Mohammedia – The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened in negative territory on Friday, with its main index, the MASI, declining 0.04% to 19,539.07 points.

On the other hand, the MASI 20 Index, composed of the 20 most liquid stocks, recorded a slight increase of 0.03% to 1,599.57 points.

The MASI ESG Index, composed of the companies with the highest ESG ratings as determined by Moody’s ESG Solutions, remained unchanged, edging down 0.01% to 1,317.29 points.

Meanwhile, the MASI Mid and Small Cap Index, which measures the performance of smaller publicly-listed companies, also gained 0.12% to 1,919.15.

In the stocks category, several stocks recorded remarkable increases during the early phases of the trading session. Involys and IB Maroc.com recorded a 7.1% increase to MAD 228.5 and MAD 83, respectively.

Rebab Company recorded a 5.99% increase to MAD 96.19, Zellidja S.A recorded a 5.98% increase to MAD 216.25, and Auto Nejma recorded a 5.75% increase to MAD 5,150, rounding out the top performers.

On the downside, Sanlam Maroc declined 3.8% at MAD 2,000, BMCI lost 3.34% at MAD 550, Ennakl fell 3.13% at MAD 62, Maroc Leasing dropped 2.64% at MAD 356.1, and Disway declined 1.95% at MAD 905.

On Thursday, the market ended higher, with the MASI rising 0.23%.
