Rabat – On Friday night, a group of Wydad Casablanca’s fan group “Ultras Winners 2005” gathered near the Eiffel Tower to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their fan group.
The group set off fireworks and smoke bombs on the Mirabeau and Grenelle bridges. The celebration lasted less than a minute but created striking red visuals that lit up the Paris skyline.
Videos of the event quickly spread across social media, some showing aerial footage that drones may have captured, but local authorities did not authorize the event.
According to Le Figaro, a French newspaper, the celebration was considered “totally illegal” by police. No request for a public gathering had been submitted, and using fireworks in public spaces requires official permission from the town hall and prefecture.
The gathering lasted less than a minute and involved around 100 people. The Paris prosecutor’s office told Le Figaro that the supporters arrived about 30 minutes before setting off the smoke bombs all at once. The event was described as short and non-violent.
Police arrived quickly after receiving reports, but the crowd had already dispersed, so they made no arrests.
Despite the quick resolution, authorities opened an investigation to identify those responsible with Paris’ territorial security unit is handling the case.
Videos of the celebration spread online, showing aerial views of the scene. According to Le Parisien, some of these clips may have been filmed using drones in restricted areas near the Ministry of the Armed Forces.
Officials are still checking whether the footage is real, edited, or possibly created using AI tools.
