Rabat – Barcelona faces Atletico Madrid today at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in one of the biggest league games left this season.

The Catalan club goes into the game as the league leaders with 73 points, while Atletico sits third on 60, which makes this a major night for both sides.

Barcelona wants to stay in control of the title race, whereas Atletico needs a win to keep real pressure on the teams above them.

The game also comes just before the teams meet again in the Champions League quarter-finals, which adds even more weight to it.

The game also comes just before the teams meet again in the Champions League quarter-finals, which adds even more weight to it.

Match Details:

  • Fixture: Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona
  • Competition: La Liga (Matchday 30)
  • Venue: Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Madrid
  • Kick-off: 8 p.m. GMT, Saturday, April 4
  • How to watch: ESPN in the U.S., DAZN in some markets, and major local rights-holders, including beIN Sports in MENA, where La Liga is shown.

Barcelona Team News

Barcelona goes into the game with some important absences. Raphinha is out after suffering a hamstring injury on international duty, and Frenkie de Jong is also still sidelined.

The good news for Hansi Flick is that Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde are back in the squad, which gives Barcelona more balance at the back ahead of a difficult away game.

Barcelona are leading the table, but this is one of the hardest away matches they have left.

Flick has also been speaking about the condition of the pitch and the need for his team to stay sharp and avoid mistakes, which tells you how seriously Barcelona are treating this one before attention turns to Europe.

Key Players: Without Raphinha, more of the attacking burden falls on Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and the midfield craft of Pedri and Dani Olmo.

Probable XI: Joan Garcia; Cancelo, Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, Gerard Martin; Marc Bernal, Pedri; Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Marcus Rashford; Ferran Torres.

Atletico Madrid Team News

Atletico also have issues of their own. Marcos Llorente is suspended, while Pablo Barrios, Marc Pubill, Cardoso, and Rodri Mendoza have all been reported unavailable for this match.

Diego Simeone has remained calm, stressing that games like this are decided by players and moments, not by big tactical speeches.

Key Players: Antoine Griezmann remains the player who ties the attack together, while Atletico will also look for quick transitions and physical pressure in midfield.

Simeone has openly praised Barcelona’s quality, but he believes his side can still compete in matches like this.

What to Expect

This should feel like a title-race game, not just another league game. Barcelona will try to control the ball and push Atletico back, while the home side will look for intensity, duels, and moments in transition.

It also comes right before their Champions League meeting, so neither side will want to show too much, but neither can really afford to give this one away either.

Safe Bets:

Under 3.5 Goals: games like this usually turn on small details.
Both Teams to Score – Yes: both sides have enough quality in the final third.
Lamine Yamal to score or assist – Yes

Prediction: Atletico Madrid 2-1 Barcelona.
