Rabat – Wydad Athletic Club members have issued a strong statement calling on President Hicham Ait Manna to step down immediately, accusing him of breaking promises and failing to meet supporters’ expectations.

In their statement, the members said Ait Manna had “manipulated” the clear demand from fans for his resignation.

They stressed that leaving the post was the only option, warning that if he refused, they would act under the club’s legal framework to remove him.

They also reminded him that he had repeatedly claimed he was not attached to the position and had only come to serve Wydad and its fans.

“After failing to manage this stage and with the supporters united in their demand for your departure, you must take responsibility and withdraw without further maneuvers,” the statement read.

Call for new leadership

The members also invited anyone capable of leading the club to step forward. They urged potential candidates to present clear programs and realistic projects, and steer clear of vague slogans or empty promises.

“Wydad needs serious plans and men ready to carry responsibility,” they said, stressing that transparency and courage are essential at this stage.

The statement concluded by stressing that Wydad is greater than any individual or personal interest.

“Whoever wants to serve the club must do so openly. Whoever cannot should leave space for others. History will judge, and accountability will separate the loyal from the reckless,” the members further said.

The demand comes amid growing frustration among supporters over the club’s recent struggles and management issues.
