Rabat – A viral video showing two young men stealing a backpack from a parked car in broad daylight has led to the arrest of two suspects, Moroccan police said on Friday.

The video, which spread widely across social media, shows the two men breaking into a car and taking a backpack while several people filmed the incident. According to social media users, the stolen backpack reportedly contained a laptop.

The footage sparked widespread outrage online, with many people expressing concern about public safety. Many users said it was unacceptable for such a theft to happen in broad daylight and called for stronger security measures.

In response to the viral video, the Tetouan Police Prefecture said it immediately launched an investigation. Authorities later confirmed that the National Police had already handled the case in the city of Larache.

Police identified the two suspects and arrested them. They were placed under judicial investigation by the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine all the circumstances of the case.

Following the investigation, authorities referred both suspects to the courts earlier this week.
