Agadir – The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts rising temperatures across most of Morocco today, alongside thunderstorms in the Saharan provinces and light rain in parts of the north.

The DGM expects light rain in the Gharb plain, the Tangier region, and Loukkos. Dense low clouds will cover parts of the eastern and southeastern regions and the central interior plains, bringing fog or drizzle in some areas.

The southern provinces will also experience locally moderate to strong wind gusts, according to the forecast.

Minimum temperatures will range between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius in the Atlas and Rif mountains and the eastern high plateaus. In the far south of the Sahara provinces, temperatures will reach 20 to 25 degrees, while other regions will record lows between 10 and 15 degrees.

Laayoune and Es Semara will record maximum temperatures of 32 degrees Celsius, among the highest in the country. Aousserd will reach 27 degrees, while Dakhla will record a high of 26 degrees.

In central Morocco, Marrakech, Agadir, El Jadida, and Safi will reach 25 degrees. Casablanca will record a maximum of 24 degrees, while Rabat and Kenitra will see highs of 23 and 24 degrees.

In the north, Tangier and Tetouan will record maximum temperatures of 22 degrees, while Oujda will reach 21 degrees. Ifrane will remain among the coldest areas, with temperatures ranging between 4 and 14 degrees.

The DGM also forecasts calm to slightly rough seas along the Mediterranean coast and in the Strait of Gibraltar. The sea will be rough between Casablanca and Tarfaya and slightly rough to rough along other coastal areas.
