Casablanca – Morocco’s bid to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) will include six stadiums, which have been certified by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), according to Moroccan media.
The Moroccan proposal includes the use of the following stadiums: Casablanca’s Mohammed V Complex (45,000 seats), Rabat’s Moulay Abdellah Complex (53,000), Grand Stade de Marrakech (45,240), Agadir’s Stade Adrar (45,480), Grand Stade de Tanger (45,000), and Grand Stade de Fez (37,000).
Morocco has recently hosted a number of continental competitions in most of these stadiums.
The competitions included Women’s CAN 2022 (Casablanca and Rabat) and the 2018 African Nations Championship or CHAN (Tangier, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Agadir).

CAF decided last week to withdraw the organization of the 2025 African Cup of Nations from Guinea because the country’s “existing infrastructure and equipment are not sufficient or equipped” to host the big sporting event.
According to Moroccan state media, Morocco intends to propose its candidacy to host Africa’s biggest professional sports event.
The news agency cited a source close to the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) that announced the news on Saturday.
Morocco has not hosted the African Cup of Nations since 1988.
This edition was played with 8 teams at the Mohammed V Complex and Moulay Abdellah Complex and was won by Cameroon.
Algeria will also submit its bid to host the competition according to domestic media.
“Algeria will apply for hosting the Africa Football Cup of Nations (CAN 2025) after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said that it has withdrawn the organization of the major continental sporting event from Guinea,” Algeria’s news agency APS quoted minister of Youth and Sports Abderrazak Sebgag as saying.
