Rabat – Morocco’s Judicial Police in Casablanca announced on Tuesday the opening of an investigation into the possible involvement of seven hotel workers in the beating of a tourist who died of his injuries.

The security services received a notification about the death of a foreign tourist of Arab nationality after he was “subjected to violence” by the workers of a hotel establishment in the city of Casablanca, SNRT News reported.

A fight erupted between the tourist and the hotel workers after they denied him entry to the hotel’s nightclub, said the report, adding that the grievously injured tourist was then transferred to a hospital in Casablanca, where he died from his injuries.

Police have put three of the suspects in custody while four of them have been interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation to shed light on the case.
