The World Cup final draw placed Morocco’s national team in Group F alongside Belgium, Croatia, and Canada.

The draw put Morocco, currently ranked as the world’s 24th best team, in the same group with the world’s number 16 (Croatia) and number 38 (Canada). Morocco’s toughest game is expected to be against Belgium, ranked second worldwide.

Morocco’s football team’s opening game will be against Croatia.

Qatar is the first Arab country to host the Cup, with the draw ceremony held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center with the presence of renowned football legends and public figures such as Brazilian football legend Cafu, Algerian footballer Rabah Madjer, and Qatar Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The hosts Qatar were placed in Group A along with the Netherlands, Senegal, and Ecuador.  Qatar are set to face off Ecuador in the World Cup opener.

Group B is made up of England, the United States of America, IR Iran, and the European playoff winner.

Argentina was placed in Group C along with Mexico, Poland, and Saudi Arabia.

Group D was made up of France, Denmark, Tunisia, and the winner of the European playoff.

The Atlas Lions made a remarkable journey in the World Cup qualifiers, defeating DR Congo in the second leg of the World Cup with a 4-1 win.

Morocco’s first participation in the world’s most prestigious football competition dates back to 1970 in Mexico.

In the 1986 Mexico World Cup, Morocco made history, becoming the first Arab and African country to qualify for the second round.

After two decades of broken dreams and disappointments, Morocco made their return to the biggest stage in 2018.

Morocco’s Atlas Lions’ impressive performance in the 2018 World Cup caught the world’s attention, as many applauded the team’s display against renowned teams worldwide, such as Portugal and Spain.

The Atlas Lions are vying to further cement their international presence in the 2022 Qatar World Cup scheduled to kick off on November 21, with the final taking place on December 18.
